The purpose of the Society is to meet at least monthly within a framework of mutual support, whereby information on benefits, stroke developments, rights and any issues that are pertinent to younger stroke survivors and their carers can be circulated and discussed with others who know the challenges and frustrations that strokes can bring. The Society will also agree a monthly social calendar and discuss and evaluate the obtaining of available grants that will help fund the social programme. These Socials are an important part of MADYSS as they provide an opportunity for the family of the stroke survivor to relate to and integrate with others and reduce the feelings of isolation. The Society will also promote its existence and gain assistance from other support organisations involved with disability, stroke or carer support. This promotion of our existence may also generate donations from time to time. Meetings General membership meetings will be held at least monthly and each member will receive a newsletter/minutes after each meeting. Members will have an opportunity to change frequency and location of meeting venues as they see fit, providing this is formally raised at meetings and has the majority approval of the membership. TOP
